Fishing - The Youghiogheny River has become a remarkable cold water fishery in recent years due to two events that have transcribed since 1950. That year the Corps of Engineers completed the largest earthen dam ever built in the states on the Youghiogheny River at the confluence of the Yough with the Casselman River and the Laurel Hill Creek. The dam discharges water from the bottom of the reservoir, which keeps the water temperature cool, and it allow for moderate flows during the hot summer months.
